On 11 April 2026, Withings was honoured to support the “Tai O Elderly Medical Outreach Programme” organised by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. Held in the scenic fishing village of Tai O, the event provided free, high-quality health screening services to over 100 elderly residents, promoting the importance of preventive healthcare within the community.

Comprehensive Health Screening Services

Medical professionals and volunteers from the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine set up multiple service stations offering essential checks for common health concerns. These included:

• Blood pressure measurement
• Diabetes screening
• Dental examinations

The warm and orderly atmosphere was clearly reflected in the group photographs, where medical staff and seniors cheerfully gave thumbs-up gestures, showcasing the strong spirit of community care and support.

Highlight: Withings Body Scan in Action

The standout feature of the day was Withings’ advanced Multi-frequency Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) Body Scan. Withings provided the device and on-site support to deliver comprehensive health assessments through a simple standing measurement.

Important Discovery

We specifically screened more than 40 elders aged over 80 years old. Using the Withings Body Scan, we identified 4 seniors with potential atrial fibrillation (AFib) risks. This finding is in line with the worldwide medical consensus that approximately 10% of people over 80 years old may have AFib.

The on-site medical team immediately prepared referral letters for these four seniors, recommending prompt follow-up cardiac evaluations at hospitals. This timely detection helped avert potential health crises and demonstrated the real value of technology in preventive medicine.
