Withings joins forces with the United Nations to advance proactive healthcare and sustainability in China 🇨🇳
We’re proud to announce that Withings has signed a partnership with the United Nations on a new “ProActive Healthcare Project” in Hainan, China — an initiative designed to improve elderly health outcomes while reducing healthcare-related CO₂ emissions. The project is part of Baoting County’s Proactive Health initiative, unveiled during the international conference “From Commitment to Implementation: Hainan’s Actions in the COP Process”, marking the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement.
“When people sleep better, move more, and manage their health proactively, they not only prevent disease—they also reduce hospital visits and lower healthcare-related CO₂ emissions. This is the essence of the 1.5°C proactive health initiative.” — Duncan Yu, General Manager for Asia at Withings
Withings devices, from our Sleep Analyzer to our Body Scan and ScanWatch, collectively generate over 120 million health data points, helping detect early warning signs such as sleep apnea, hypertension, and metabolic disorders.
Our hashtagAI models—trained on data from 100,000 measurements and 25,000 users—enable early risk prediction for conditions like Type 2 diabetes and hypertension, paving the way for more sustainable, prevention-first healthcare systems.
This collaboration in Baoting reflects a growing recognition that digital health and climate action are deeply connected: healthier people lead to a healthier planet.
We look forward to working with our UN partners and the Hainan government to deploy Withings medical-grade technology and support the world’s transition to zero-carbon, proactive health communities. 🌱
